Currently my schedule looks A LOT different than it normally does and I'm finding I have too much time on my hands to go to the kitchen and grab a snack. After the first couple weeks of a less busy lifestyle, I realized I needed to provide myself an easy "HEALTHY" option for snacking.

I searched my fridge for any fruits and veggies I had that would be good for snacking and chopped them up. Often times I find myself grabbing whatever is fastest, and so when fruit and veggies are ready to go, I'm more than happy to oblige. Having veggies and fruit already chopped in the fridge allows you and your family to easily choose the healthier option, and feel good about snacking! Plus, when you eat healthy, you have more energy and feel a lot better about your day!

Put your veggies or fruit in a glass container or bowl and seal with a reusable beeswax food wrap. Using a beeswax wrap instead of plastic wrap or the tight lid that comes with the container allows the fruit and veggies to breathe. Beeswax keeps the natural moisture from the food in, while blocking any moisture from the refrigerator. The result? Your food will last a lot longer! If you forget it for a couple days, it'll still be just as tasty and ready to eat. I have definitely found this helpful in a time where we should be limiting trips to the grocery store.

A tip to making sure your wrap is sealed nicely around the container: As you mould the edges of the wrap over your container, gently press them over top of one another. "Pleating" the edges ensures your container is tightly sealed.
